When my clients reached out, they were deep in the middle of building a home with three busy children — too many decisions, not enough bandwidth, and a real need for someone to hold the vision so they didn't have to. They wanted cohesion more than anything else.
What they were after was a home that felt comfortable and unpretentious. Light and bright, with warm wood tones that kept everything feeling grounded and timeless rather than stark.
The open plan was both the opportunity and the constraint. With one room flowing into the next, the neutral palette had to work hard — warm creams and whites that felt intentional rather than absent. But the Four Seasons room was where things got interesting. Tongue-and-groove on the walls and ceiling, color-drenched in the same green as the island — a space that earns its contrast because everything around it is so quiet.

The scope here was finishes and fixtures throughout the whole home — paint, tile, lighting, cabinetry, and consultation on selections that needed to work together across an open, flowing floor plan. It's the kind of engagement where the decisions are everywhere and the margin for inconsistency is slim.
The strategy was to let the neutral spaces feel settled and intentional, then place a few well-chosen moments of contrast that give the eye somewhere to land. A black floral wallpaper in the powder room. An antique mirror backsplash in the butler's pantry. And the Four Seasons room — warm, enveloping green from floor to ceiling — that earns its boldness precisely because everything around it is so restrained.
